PromptPro Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 18, 2026

Summary: PromptPro is a macOS prompt library, prompt builder, and prompt capture app designed to work primarily on your Mac. Core features such as saving prompts, organizing folders, editing prompt versions, generating prompt text, searching, importing, exporting, and backing up the prompt database are performed locally.

The developer does not operate a PromptPro cloud service and does not receive your saved prompts, folders, tags, notes, generated prompt text, prompt versions, local links, custom folder images, database backups, exports, or Chrome extension captures through the app's core local workflows.

Optional AI assist features may send selected prompt record content to a local LM Studio server or to an external provider only when you choose and configure those features.

Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to PromptPro for macOS. It explains what information the app processes, where that processing happens, and what choices you have.

Information Processed Locally on Your Mac

To provide its features, PromptPro may locally read, process, create, or store information you add or import, including:

This information is processed locally for the app's normal workflows and is not sent to a developer-controlled server.

Local Database, Backups, and App Data

PromptPro stores its main prompt library in a local Core Data database under the app's Application Support data. It may also store preferences in UserDefaults, API keys in macOS Keychain, custom folder images under Application Support, and backups or exports in folders you choose.

Local PromptPro data remains on your Mac unless you delete it, export it, back it up, sync it through a future Apple service that you enable, or remove PromptPro's app data using macOS tools.

iCloud and Apple Services

PromptPro is currently local-first. The app includes an iCloud sync preference for planned CloudKit infrastructure, but CloudKit sync is not enabled in this build.

If a future version enables iCloud sync, sync will be controlled by a clear user preference and handled through Apple's private CloudKit infrastructure for your Apple Account.

Pasteboard, Global Shortcuts, and Accessibility

PromptPro can use the macOS pasteboard and Accessibility permission when you request cross-app capture or paste actions. For example, PromptPro may copy selected text from the active app, save it as a prompt, place a chosen prompt on the pasteboard, or send a paste command to the active app.

These workflows run locally and are initiated by you through PromptPro controls, macOS Services, global shortcuts, or the floating prompt picker. You can manage Accessibility permission in macOS System Settings.

Browser Extension and Native Host

PromptPro includes an optional Chrome extension and native messaging host. When you use the extension action, selected prompt text may be sent from the browser to PromptPro on your Mac so it can be saved in your local prompt library.

The extension is intended to act only when you use its PromptPro capture or paste actions. Browser-captured prompt content is not sent to the developer by PromptPro.

Optional AI Assist Features

PromptPro includes optional AI-assisted prompt enhancement features. These features are off unless you configure a provider and choose to use them.

Local LM Studio

If you configure PromptPro to use LM Studio, selected prompt record content may be sent to the LM Studio server you run on your Mac or local network. The developer of PromptPro does not receive this content.

External AI Providers

If you configure an external OpenAI-compatible provider, such as the default external endpoint, selected prompt content and related request data may leave your Mac and be sent to the provider endpoint you configure. The request may include prompt titles, model names, tags, descriptions, system prompts, base prompts, notes, output format details, selected model names, and technical request data needed to generate the requested result.

The developer of PromptPro does not receive this content, but the external provider may process it under its own privacy policy and terms. You are responsible for choosing a provider you trust and understanding that provider's data practices.

API Keys

Manual external API keys are stored in your macOS Keychain and are used only to contact the provider you configure.

Network Use

PromptPro's core local prompt library, prompt editing, prompt generation, search, folder organization, import, export, backup, restore, Services, pasteboard, and Chrome native-host workflows do not require uploading data to a developer server.

Network activity may occur when you choose a feature that depends on a local network service or external provider, such as optional AI assist model discovery or prompt enhancement. External AI features send selected content only to the provider endpoint you configure.

Data Collection by the Developer

The developer does not operate a PromptPro account system, prompt cloud service, analytics system, advertising system, or cross-app tracking system for PromptPro.

Through the app's core local workflows, the developer does not collect your prompt library, prompt text, folders, tags, notes, links, generated text, thumbnails, exports, backups, API keys, or extension-captured text.

If PromptPro is distributed through the Mac App Store, Apple may provide developers with App Store sales, download, crash, and performance information according to Apple's own policies and your device settings.

Tracking and Advertising

PromptPro does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not show targeted advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Third-Party Services

PromptPro may interact with third-party services only when you configure or use features that require them, such as local LM Studio or an external AI provider. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

PromptPro does not control how an external provider processes data that you choose to send to that provider.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local PromptPro data remains on your Mac until you delete prompts, empty trash, remove folders or related images, reset app data, delete exports or backups, or remove the app and its container data. Files exported or created by PromptPro remain in the locations you choose until you delete them.

Because the developer does not operate a PromptPro cloud service for these workflows, the developer cannot access, restore, export, or delete your local prompt files for you.

Your Choices

Children's Privacy

PromptPro is a productivity and prompt workflow tool and is not directed to children. The app does not collect personal information from children or other users through a developer-operated service.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when PromptPro's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect. If the app's data practices change, the privacy information in App Store Connect should also be updated.
