URLPro Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 18, 2026

Summary: URLPro is a macOS bookmark manager designed to keep your bookmark library under your control. Core features such as saving bookmarks, organizing folders and tags, searching, importing, exporting, backing up, and opening bookmarks are performed on your Mac.

The developer does not operate a URLPro account system, advertising system, analytics system, or developer-controlled bookmark sync service. URLPro's normal local workflows do not send your bookmark library to the developer.

Optional features may send selected data outside your Mac only when you enable or use them, such as iCloud sync, web metadata refresh, Lite Browser web browsing, Brave Search, LM Studio, external AI providers, Calendar or Reminders creation, App Store purchases, or support email.

Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to URLPro for macOS. It explains what information the app processes, where that processing happens, and what choices you have.

Information Stored Locally on Your Mac

To provide its bookmark management features, URLPro may locally store information you create, edit, import, or generate in the app, including:

This information is used for app functionality and remains on your Mac unless you enable iCloud sync, export it, back it up, send it to a configured provider, or share it yourself.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, URLPro stores syncable app data in your private CloudKit container so it can be available on Macs signed in to the same Apple Account.

If iCloud sync is off, URLPro keeps its database local unless you export it, back it up, or otherwise share it.

URLPro uses Apple's CloudKit and related system services for iCloud sync. The developer does not operate a separate URLPro cloud sync server.

Passwords, API Keys, Emails, and Usernames

Passwords, API keys, tokens, and password-like secret values are stored in macOS Keychain. URLPro database records may store metadata showing that a password or key exists, but not the secret value itself.

Saved emails and usernames are encrypted before they are stored in the app database or synced with iCloud.

If you export bookmark data, review the exported files before sharing them. Exports may include notes, account labels, email fields, usernames, source labels, dates, locations, and other saved bookmark context.

Browser Imports and File Access

URLPro reads browser bookmark files only when you run migration, drag in content, or select a supported file for import. If macOS requires file or folder access approval, URLPro uses the file or folder you choose.

URLPro is sandboxed on macOS and uses user-selected file access for import, export, backup, restore, and database tools.

Web Metadata Refresh

When you refresh metadata for a bookmark, URLPro contacts the saved website to read public page details such as title, description, language, icons, tracker information, and visible hashtags when hashtags are enabled.

The request is sent to the website associated with the bookmark, not to a developer-controlled URLPro server. URLPro does not make website cookie consent choices on your behalf.

Lite Browser

URLPro includes an embedded Lite Browser for previewing or opening web pages. Websites you visit in Lite Browser may receive normal web request information such as the requested URL, IP address, cookies, local storage, user agent, and other information handled by the web page and WebKit.

Lite Browser website data, such as cookies, local storage, and cache data, is managed on your Mac. URLPro includes controls to clear Lite Browser website data.

Calendar and Reminders

URLPro asks macOS for Calendar or Reminders access only when you use features that create events or reminders from bookmark data. You can change those permissions later in System Settings > Privacy & Security.

Reminder setup uses the Reminders list you choose. URLPro creates the reminder in Reminders and does not need to store the reminder item itself in the bookmark database.

Optional AI-Assisted Features

URLPro includes optional AI-assisted features for bookmark organization and suggestions. These features are not required for core bookmark management.

Local LM Studio

If you configure URLPro to use LM Studio, selected bookmark data may be sent to the LM Studio server you run on your Mac or local network. The developer of URLPro does not receive this content.

External AI Providers

If you configure an external OpenAI-compatible or other external provider, selected bookmark data and request instructions may leave your Mac and be sent to the provider endpoint you configure.

The developer of URLPro does not receive this content, but the external provider may process it under its own privacy policy and terms. You are responsible for choosing a provider you trust and selecting only the bookmark fields needed for the request.

API Keys

Manual external API keys are stored in macOS Keychain and are used only to contact the provider you configure.

Optional Brave Search

If you enable and configure Brave Search features, URLPro sends the search query, result count, country, language, and your Brave Search API token to the Brave Search API endpoint so the requested search can be performed.

The developer of URLPro does not receive this content. Brave Search is governed by Brave's own privacy policy and terms.

Diagnostics and Support

URLPro keeps local diagnostic entries for critical or user-facing failures. Diagnostic entries are stored on your Mac and are automatically pruned after 30 days.

URLPro's shareable support logs are designed to contain support codes and app environment details such as app version, build, and macOS version. You choose whether to export or email support information.

If you send support information through the contact form, the information you send is processed for customer support.

Purchases

If URLPro is distributed through the Mac App Store, purchases and license restoration are handled by Apple using StoreKit and the App Store. The developer does not receive your full payment card details from URLPro.

Apple may provide developers with App Store sales, download, crash, and performance information according to Apple's own policies and your device settings.

Data Collection by the Developer

The developer does not operate a URLPro account system, advertising system, analytics system, cross-app tracking system, or developer-controlled bookmark sync service.

Through the app's core local workflows, the developer does not collect your bookmark library, URLs, notes, folders, tags, account labels, browser import files, local database, Keychain secrets, exports, backups, Lite Browser website data, or iCloud container data.

Data may reach third parties only when you use Apple services, visit websites, enable sync, configure external providers, use Brave Search, make App Store purchases, or send support information.

Tracking and Advertising

URLPro does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not show targeted advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Third-Party Services

URLPro may interact with third-party services only when you configure or use features that require them, such as websites you save or open, iCloud, the Mac App Store, Brave Search, local LM Studio, or an external AI provider.

Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. URLPro does not control how an external provider processes data that you choose to send to that provider.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local URLPro data remains on your Mac until you delete it, reset app data, remove backups or recovery points, clear Lite Browser website data, remove the app and its container data, or delete exported files from the locations you chose.

If you enable iCloud sync, syncable data remains in your private iCloud container until you delete it through URLPro, macOS storage controls, iCloud settings, or other Apple-provided controls.

Because the developer does not operate a URLPro cloud service for the core workflows, the developer cannot access, restore, export, or delete your local bookmark database for you.

Your Choices

Children's Privacy

URLPro is a bookmark management utility and is not directed to children. The app does not collect personal information from children or other users through a developer-operated service.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when URLPro's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect. If the app's data practices change, the privacy information in App Store Connect should also be updated.
